'Of Course, She Can': McCain Says Palin Can Beat Obama

ABC?s Jordyn Phelps reports:

As speculation swirls over whether former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will enter the race for the 2012 presidential campaign, former 2008 Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain (AZ) said this morning that he thinks Palin can win in a race against President Obama in 2012.

?Of course, she can,? Senator John McCain made said on ?Fox News Sunday? this morning. ?She can. Now, whether she will or not, whether she'll even run or not, I don't know.?

McCain?s comments come on the same day that Palin is kicking off a bus tour throughout the northeastern United States. Palin?s bus tour starts from Washington, where Palin is attending a Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally.

McCain went on to qualify his comment, pointing out that a long road lies ahead before the Republican Party settles on a nominee.

?A lot of things happen in campaigns, Chris,? McCain told FOX?s Chris Wallace. ?You remember, I was written off a couple of times and were able to come back. So, there's going to be a roller coaster ride for all of them before we finally arrive at our nominee.?

When asked by Wallace about Palin?s lack of popularity among independent voters, McCain said he?s ?never seen anyone as mercilessly and relentlessly attacked? as Palin but pointed out that she also inspires many.

?She also inspires great passion, particularly among Republican faithful.? McCain said.

The Liberal media, MSNBC,CBS,ABC and even CNN are far to corrupted and Liberal to ever allow any conservative woman to become president. They make it their business to destroy them. They give Obama a complete free pass on everything but if Sarah for example looks at notes on her hand it is somehow a scandal even if Osama can't speak without a teleprompter. If they cannot find a scandal for the person then they will attack their children like they did with Sarah Palin's children. We have a very sick and twisted liberal media in America.

Another demented doddering fool who is living in the world of illusions!! He, who picked the "mistake" of the century as his VP is still trying to justify his monumental error. Hey John, are you still in the world of make-believe, or in a dream? Time to get real man, for it would be a real dream to have your "VP" trounced by anyone on the other side.

She is the one that helped him lose in 2008. Sorry but Hilary is just not what this country needs.

HA! The "old" white man is STILL angry and DELUSIONAL about this inept> We know WHO put his idiot in our "face". Your tricks Johnny or hers won't work for the Presidency. However, it's working for her bank account. She "quit" her day job to "sucker" the people out of their money with her red high heel shoes and short skirts (lol)...No sensible women would ever be taken seriously with a rifle and "red" silettos by serious Americans.

Hahahaha. The year of we're not running, but if we did we could beat him. Record amounts.

As someone who voted for Obama, but won't again.... I see no hope in what the GOP is putting out there. God.. there is no way in ####, I could sit and listen to a State of the Union given by Sarah Palin.. that voice grates on my nerves! arggggg I guess I will just have to sit the next one out, the Obama koolaid has run out, it gave me a Hang-over.. and the GOP so far has nothing to offer.

Is John on drugs?

An old shoe could beat Obama in 2012. He couldn't even get ONE vote for his budget in the Senate last week. NOT ONE! Not even from his own party!

Go for it Palin. Win the primary. Obama will be a sure win then.

Posted by: wormfood | May 29, 2011 12:31:51 PM

Go Sarah Go. We need a change and this might be it! While I didn't want her to win and thought she was kind of crazy, due to false press reports and people going for blood I now see she is a wonderful lady. I supported Obama last election as a independent voter but think this country needs to change course. This will be interesting if she runs. I am honestly not sure I would vote for her over Obama but again not so sure I wouldn't. I hate dirty politics bottomline and it will be a huge turnoff in 2012 should it happen.

John McCain is a man who has lost all credibility for making such a rash, reckless statement. This man certainly has memory issues, considering the fact that he lost the election to Obama because of Palin. What I would like to see is the debate between Obama and Sarah Palin. That will a real comedy hour.

Palin scares the beejeezus out of dems. That's why she's in every democrat newspaper, liberal TV show, and left wing magazine. If they didn't care about her they'd leave her alone. In all reality the dems are BEGGING for a frontrunner so they can start the attacks. Without a frontrunner the media has to spend too much effort on a large field of folks.

Posted by: afkbrad | May 29, 2011 12:37:43 PM

Yeah, all talk and no action. She quit her gubernatorial position. All she does is criticize the president but comes up with no solutions. Seriously I don't think they want to win the presidency, they want to keep the house and gain the senate, and guarantee the monies coming to the right wing facists will be 4 and 5 times more than the dems. The ads will hit us 24/7. But people are wising up and are really ticked off. But it will be curious what plans these folks will have to for propaganda. Positive thing, the demographics are changing more as each year passes, new set of young people in 2012.

I hope she does run. Then we can watch her get crushed again.

If the stereotype fits, report it. The tea party folx are mostly Republicans that are too proud to admit they are Republicans. Tea Partyers are disaffected Republicans that the GOP is desperate to get back into the fold. That's why the GOP is paying Palin millions of dollars of your donations to speak on their behalf. Then Republicans prop up Romney like a bait and switch to pull in the Tea Party vote. Don't get fooled.

People who voted for Republicans are angry right now. The Republican Party has been fooling people into voting for them for decades despite their inability to deliver policies or laws that parallel the wishes of the majority of the constituency. If you are rich people then it makes sense that you would vote for Republicans because they will at any cost fight for the lowering of taxes for rich people, but aside from rich people Republicans do very little to improve the lives of average Americans.

How is it that Republicans get elected at all? What kind of fools would vote for somebody that cares so little for governing?

It seems every cultural position a Republican takes in public is meant to simply intensify and manipulate the emotions of people. Republicans of today are master manipulators of information and, they unfortunately for America, have powerful media corporations and lobbyist behind their cynical displays of misinformation and false hopes of resurrecting battles long lost to reasonable public policy and law.

People often discount our political system as broken but I believe this disputatious. There are huge differences between the Democrats and Republicans. I believe any American given the facts will come to find that Republicans of today have very little in mind when it comes to protecting liberty and justice for the majority in our country despite them using those words more than anybody.

Democrats get my vote for years to come.

For me voting is like driving, vote R to go backwards, vote D to go forwards.

"A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who, however, has never learned how to walk forward."
Franklin Delano Roosevelt
