Yes, by the end of Nutcracker season many of us will be in a sugar coma, but how can any citizen of the arts resist the taste of this preview from Alexei Ratmansky's new production for ABT?

Especially since it features Marcelo Gomes and (hallowed be her name) Veronika Part?

Who will be dancing the first preview on December 22nd at BAM.

I am currently camped out in the basement of BAM, warming a container of Cup o' Soup on the radiator, which takes forever.

I'm going to sneak out this weekend through a secret exit nobody knows about except me and Mark Morris's beer distributor to catch Nicole Wolcott at Dance New Amsterdam and the premiere of her new work 100 Beginnings.



Wolcott [no relation, as I always feel obliged to mention] is working with Vanessa Walters, choreographer and performer for the music/art phenomenon Fischerspooner to create this multi-faceted new work. The two gather a cast of characters to use dance, spectacle and architecture to explore a world of awkward moments exposed, tender collisions, attempted fame, and survival in high heels.
