Has there ever been a more brazen propagandist writing for a major newspaper?
Cole's link takes you to Jennifer Rubin, the neocon sockpuppet who parlayed her tireless typing at Commentary's Contentions blog on behalf of hardliners at home and in Israel into a perch at the Washington Post, which has no shame or standards in editorial opinion, which we already knew from so many years of exposure to David Broder's Olympian dome and Richard Cohen's chortling beard.
Once again Israel is being bullied by Obama, Rubin crabbily laments, though it seems to me that every time I turn around it's Netanyahu who's publicly insulting the president, but let's not let that detain us.
My favorite baloney slice in Rubin's column was this sentence:
I spoke to Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), who plainly was angry over the continued effort to bully Israel.
Oh please. Peter King is always plainly angry. He's an anger queen. He wakes up angry, sits on the pot angry, flosses in a fury. The only time he's scarier than when he's scowling is when he's attempting the rictus semblance of a smile, sending children screaming from his ice-cream truck.
The best you can say of Peter King is that he doesn't send pictures of his penis to all of his congressional fans. Perhaps his penis looks angry too, like the head of a snapping turtle, but that's purely in the realm of speculation.
