Look and Listen

Haglund alerts us to a "Meet the Artist" video profile of ABT soloist Sarah Lane on Dance Channel TV, known best to civilians as Natalie Portman's ballerina double in Black Swan. Haglund:

Thank you to the Haglund'eeler who provided the link to this special piece of video that includes clips of Sarah's extraordinary debut as Giselle with the LakeCities Ballet. The final minute is a heartbreaker. It is criminal for ABT to deny us this performance at The Met. If we don't get to see this on the Met stage soon, Haglund may have to round up a gang of BedStuy Wilis to administer ballet justice.

And let me tell you something, you don't want to be around when rough justice is meted out by ballet's vigilante toe-shoes of fury! Even Charles Bronson runs the other way when he sees all that tulle coming.

If you like to laugh--and who doesn't?, apart from Rick Santorum--you'll want to give a listen to Marc Maron's latest WTF podcast, a group outing featuring Allan Havey (it's been so long since we spoke in Gramercy Park), Joel McHale of Community, and others.

Be sure to listen to the very end, when Eddie Pepitone does one of his scathingly hilarious tirade monologues, taking off from Hangover II and ending up somewhere in the asteroid belt. I would quote some of the killer lines in Pepitone's riffs, but that would be wrong, denying you the pleasure of discovery.

Sometimes I wonder if I care too much.
