He was interviewing "Joe the Plumber."
This is what it's come to. Lou Dobbs, who rode a fiery steed of indignation as host of his own show on CNN and only a couple of years ago was discussed as a possible political office-seeker, is reduced to soliciting the economic views of the past-due mascot of the dead dodo Rightnetwork.
I guess Gary Busey was unavailable, out looking for a comb.
2. Looking up righty reviews of Atlas Shrugged the movie, I alighted on this intellectually devoid chat session on Pajamas Media TV and saw, to my mild amazement, that one of the chatterers was Amy Holmes, wearing way too many strands of pearls, if I may venture a fashion quibble.
Sigh. Amy Holmes, so attractive, so telegenic (the two are not mutually inclusive), so vibrant, so fetching in her unfanatical way.
She seemed like such an up and comer in the salmon stream of punditry only a few years ago. She is reported to have dated Mickey Kaus and Lloyd Grove, which perhaps reflects crafty careerist expediency or was perhaps a desperate cry for help--I prefer not to judge.
She had star potential, future anchor-babe appeal.
And now, here she is, on production-valueless Pajamas Media TV, dressed like a country club Republican and sticking a microphone under Cal Thomas's and John Fund's chins for soundbites as Rick Santorum wanders by in the background, oh it's all too too sordid.
Amy Holmes on PJTV. Mickey Kaus at the Daily Caller. That they have sunk to their proper level illustrates one of the key sutras in the Tao, I'm just not sure which one.
