Letters: PFI inquiry

As the Guardian has well reported, there has been widespread public concern at the cost of the private finance initiative, which has created a public debt overhang of some 210bn (Coalition backs PFI despite cost doubts, 18 April). Last month the Commons Treasury select committee announced it was holding a public inquiry into PFI. The deadline for written submissions (of up to 3,000 words) is 12 noon on Thursday 28 April. (Late submissions may be accepted; full details are on the committee's website.) I and my colleagues would welcome submissions from industry, those in the public services, and the public. They may be addressed to the Clerk, Treasury Select Committee, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA, or sent by email to treascom@parliament.uk.
