Palin on Debt Debate: 'More Obama Drama'

ABC News' Sheila Marikar reports:

Sarah Palin weighed in on the debt debate again on Greta Van Susteren?s Fox News show tonight, calling President Obama?s handling of the situation ?more Obama drama.?

?Scaring the American people is exactly what President Obama is doing in that bizarre speech he gave last night,? she said. ?He?s getting pretty good at this fear mongering.?

Palin characterized the Aug. 2 deadline as ?looming, but it?s not Armageddon, it?s not life or death.?

Her solution to the problem?

?It?s the spending, stupid,? she said. ?President Obama does not know what he is doing when we ask him to lead us out of this situation we?re facing with bankruptcy.?

The former Alaska governor stood by the Republican leadership, saying, ?I do respect Speaker Boehner?s efforts in trying to negotiate with jello," as Boehner characterized talks with President Obama almost two weeks ago.

No-one knows how to get us out of this. But, I believe Obama knows more than the GOP that got us here. For istance, get GWBush/Cheney ask them how to solve the mess they made......silence, crickets, bullfrogs in the distance. Boehner was ONE OF THEM! When we complain about irresponsible Govenment spending, we are actually talking about Boehner, Portman, and the rest of the GOP voting with Bush every step of the way. Boehner voted for the last 7 debt ceiling increases, the last 4, he didn't bother to read.

The Credit Agencies have spoken.
Because the world is watching.
The Fact is : We simply cannot jeopardize our credit rating.

What most people fail to understand is how critical the credit rating of the US is to the health and stability of the global financial system, purely from a mathematical standpoint; when such math is challenged, it will lead to a crisis in confidence on an untested scale.

The industry veterans understand the singular foundation to finance is and always has been the "risk free rate" as defined by the US Treasury market. All day-to-day money market transactions price off of it. Every capital market relies upon it such as stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies etc. Everyone and every institution who borrows depend on it. Models are explicitly tied while confidence in liquidity and stability in pricing are implicit. Perhaps the biggest bomb to drop would be a forced re-pricing and potential unwinding of the $700 TRILLION of notional derivatives that exist on financial books of corporations and governments.
Thus Ben Bernanke chose to warn of a "calamitous" effect.

And if readers here no longer respect the FED, then please take to heart these words from Jamie Dimon: "And what surprises me about the conversation at all isn?t ? you can talk about all the potential catastrophic outcomes, but I ? no one can possibly say, in my opinion who is semi-rational, could possibly say that there?s no chance of a catastrophic outcome. And therefore why would you take that risk??

Which I guess is why Obama decided to spend like Bush did but at an accelerated rate.
How does Obama know better when he is Bush 3?

Sarah, How's your personal economy doing? Didn't you quit as Alaska's Governor because you were going broke? ***********Sarah's reply, "Buy my book, watch my show." When I sell enough books, make enough shows, I'll be OK."

I have yet to see, meet or read something from a tea party member that wasn't bordering on insanity.
All of them need to be commited to the nearest mental institution.
#1 on the list is Palin

NOZ- Easy the GOP under Bush doubled our debt, that means they DOUBLED OUR PAYMENTS, doubled the interest, and that payment comes out of our income directly. Don't act like you don't understand debt payments. It would be just like doubling your house payment, you'd spend MORE money, wouldn't you?

Sarah is right, of course. Obama threatens the downfall of everything if people don't "compromise" to agree with him in his socialist notions of distributing the wealth from the "richest" to the "poorest."

Fortunately, Sarah Palin - like many Americans - doesn't buy in to his schemes, which is why the very mention of her name drives idiots crazy, who are too bamboozled by their beloved King Obama to realize they're contributing to the debt, itself.

Posted by: Pat | Jul 26, 2011 11:45:44 PM

I'm still betting that Obama is positioning himself, along with Senate majority leader Harry Reid, to save the day at the eleventh hour. All part of that never wasting a good crisis thing.

Posted by: LongT | Jul 26, 2011 11:45:52 PM

Of course Pat. And every economist and Moody's and Standard & Poors, etc, are ALL crazy for mentioning the ensuing fallout from it.

Palin, with her JOURNALIST degree sure would know more than them! And of course HISTORY back when this happened before, that wouldn't matter either, right?

Pat, what you see as 'crazy' is just reality laughing at your nonsense. Come back when you can form a coherent argument that has more than a lick of sense.

Palin got it right this time, he has NO plan. He tells lie after lie after lie.

Posted by: philliestotheseries | Jul 26, 2011 11:55:57 PM

Sarah who? *YAWN*...ZzzzZzzzzzZZzzz.......

Posted by: Dee | Jul 26, 2011 11:59:12 PM

You really believe it was Bush that got us here. Well, ODRAMA spent trillions of dollars on Obamacare which is full of problems, and will need trillions to implement the mess. He did this knowing that there was an economic crisis, and an employment crisis. He is either evil or stupid. PICK ONE.

Stop focusing on Palin being stupid, it is a diversion from reality of America's biggest mistake.

Those who tell Palin to go away and shutup: NO, we need people like Palin to keep on speaking.

Thank you.
