Nuke Nightmare: Easily Triggered, Hard to Forget

The nuclear nightmare appears easily triggered and difficult to forget. Americans' support for nuclear power plummeted after Three Mile Island and Chernobyl. Japan's nuclear disaster has done the same, according to a new poll. Views of nuclear energy already echo Americans' outlook after their great domestic scare, 1979's Three Mile Island crisis.This awakened anxiety is visible in the "enormous" run on Iodine pills in the West Coast, amid concern over a diluted radioactive plume drifting toward Southern California. Experts say the plume poses no risks....
