It's not only David Lynch's birthday, it's Nico Day at Dennis Cooper's site, David Ehrenstein's tribute to the former singer of Velvet Underground, fashion model, solo artist (her album Chelsea Girl goes wherever I go and Lester Bangs evokes the eternal desolate polar night of The Marble Index in a personal essay published in the second posthumous collection of his work), muse to director Philippe Garrel, and possessor of the most haunting wraith cheekbones of the 20th Century.
What a gorgeous feat of curatorship Ehrenstein has achieved in her honor. It's like a tour of the Warhol Museum on a floating cloud of cigarette smoke.
